A few weeks ago we read a story about Papa's Donuts.  At the back of the book was the recipe!  We just had to make some to try.  So we made donuts at golden time on Friday last week with the help of Mrs Murray.  They were yummy.

Here is the recipe........
4 cups of flour
1cup of warm water
2 Tlb yeast
11/2  cups of coconut milk
1/2 cup of sugar
pinch of salt
oil for deep frying

Put flour, water and yeast into bowl.  Add coconut milk, sugar and salt.  Mix dough lightly and fold into a ball.  You may need to add more flour.  Let it sit for 2hours.  Cut into pieces and shape into balls, shaping the donut holes at the same time.  Heat oil in a fryer or large pot.  cook a few at a time until golden brown.  Drain on paper towels.  Dip into sugar/cinnamon if you want (we did). Eat!!!
